About Me
Marco Romani
Fine Art Photographer
My passion for photography began almost by chance during my travels around the world.
At first, I took pictures simply to document places, encounters, and atmospheres, like visual travel notes. Over time, however, photography evolved into a true artistic pursuit.
The year 2011 marked a definitive turning point with the acquisition of my first full-frame DSLR, starting a phase of intense experimentation both in the field and in the editing stage.
Through the study and refinement of various post-processing techniques, I have gradually developed the look that makes my images recognizable, transforming every shot into a unique visual experience.
My works have reached an international audience, having been published in books, calendars, travel guides, and on covers worldwide.
My Vision
Photography in the Digital Age
A fine art photograph goes beyond the mere representation of reality.
We do not just stand before a scene, we experience it. My goal, as a photographer, is to transfer this experience into my images by finding the right balance between representation and interpretation.
Bringing an image to life is an artistic process and, as such, extremely personal.
It’s an effort which involves careful planning, good field practice and an accurate work in today’s digital darkroom.
It begins in the very instant of capture, where intuitive yet deliberate choices are made—selecting the right moment in time, identifying a meaningful subject, and framing it through a considered angle of view. These decisions shape the essence of the photograph before the shutter even closes.
The editing stage is a core aspect of my creative workflow, and I fully embrace the possibilities and freedom today’s technology has given us. From basic adjustments to more complex tasks, I refine and enhance my images to blend the raw capture of the camera with the lasting impression of the moment.
In the end, each image becomes a bridge between reality and perception, shaped as much by vision as by experience.
